Today is preview day for tomorrow's car auction

Today (February 3, 2006), is auction preview day. As I stated in my previous posts, if you plan on bidding on a car at tomorrow's auction, please attend the vehicle previews either today from 10:00am to 4:00pm, or tomorrow, from 7:30am to 8:59am.

A vehicle is a major purchase, just like a house. You wouldn't buy a house without first inspecting it, right? So why is it that in every auction, there are people that bid on cars and win, only to later discover it wasn't the car they thought it was? Inspect the cars folks! Know what you're bidding on BEFORE you bid on it. Don't get caught up in the excitement of the crowd. Get to the previews early enough so that you can give the vehicles a thorough "look-over". Get in the car, open all the doors, look at the engine, start it up (but please don't rev-up the cars as if you were in the start of the Daytona 500!!)

Here's a tip for you: maybe you noticed a big 'A' or 'M' written on the windshield of the vehicle. That denotes the transmission type. 'A' is for Automatic Transmission, and 'M' is for Manual Transmission (stick shift).

Update for February 4, 2006 Auto Auction

A couple of things I forgot to mention in my last post...

• Total Number of Vehicles to be auctioned: approximately 287
• There's going to be another give-away this month: at the end of the auction on Saturday, there will be a drawing, and two (2) lucky winners will each receive a $500 VISA GiftCard. And once again, participants must be registered and must be present to win. Employees of Alameda County Auction, their families and affiliates are not eligible for this giveaway. Good Luck!

Alameda County Auction Car Auction Previews - February 3-4

Happy Thursday! Alameda County Auction's Car Auction Catalog for Saturday, February 4, 2006 is now available online at: http://www.acauction.com/catalog.htm. It's available in html, .rtf (ms word), and .pdf formats.

For those of you planning to bid on a car at the auction, it is highly recommended that you attend the previews (i'll go as far as saying that it's imperative that you attend). The time and dates for the auto auction previews are as follows:

• Friday, February 3, 2006 - 10:00am to 4:00pm
• Saturday, February 4, 2006 - 7:30am to 8:59am

Car Auction info for February 2004

Amazing... tomorrow is already February 2006. Where did the time go? Once again, Alameda County Auction will be holding a car auction on Saturday, February 4, 2006. I don't know the exact number of automobiles that will be going on the auction block, but I estimate it to be between 250 and 300 vehicles. I'll post a more accurate figure once I find out (most likely on the evening of February 2nd).
